List Fixer

Every row is accounted for: see exactly what changed, what was kept and what was left out, and download all of it. Paste anything: a column of emails, a whole spreadsheet, a CSV export, names and addresses mixed together. Or drop a .csv or .txt file in the box. Spreadsheets keep every column: names, phones, notes and all.

When an address appears more than once, the first copy is kept (or the last, if you tick that box) and any empty cells are filled in from the other copies. Every change and warning is listed after you click, with row numbers, and you can download them as a report. Flagged addresses are kept, never deleted. ListaFix cleans and organizes a list; it doesn't check whether each inbox exists. Downloads are created on your own computer and contain your list, so keep them as safe as the original.

Frequently asked questions

Is ListaFix free?

Yes. Every tool on ListaFix is free, with no account and no limit on how often you use it.

Is my list uploaded anywhere?

No. The tools run in your web browser using JavaScript, so the emails you paste or open never leave your computer. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tools keep working.

Does ListaFix check whether emails really exist?

No. ListaFix fixes the format of your list: duplicates, typos, broken entries and spacing. To find out whether each address is real and can receive mail, use Veml, which checks every mailbox without sending any email.

What do I get after fixing my list?

Your cleaned list, ready to copy or download as a CSV with every column kept. You can also download a change report that lists each typo fixed, duplicate removed and row left out, with its spreadsheet row number and which copy was kept, plus warnings for addresses worth a second look. If any rows had no usable email, a separate download gives you those rows with all their columns, so no contact details are lost.

Which addresses get flagged?

Shared role inboxes such as info@ or sales@ on company domains, and addresses at about 8,900 known throwaway email services from a public list stored on ListaFix itself. Flagged addresses are kept, never deleted. A flag is a reason to take a look, not proof that an address is bad, and an address without a flag isn't proven good either.

How does ListaFix decide what is a duplicate?

Two addresses are duplicates when they match after ignoring capital letters and extra spaces. If you turn on the Gmail option, dots and +tags in gmail.com and googlemail.com addresses are ignored too, because Gmail delivers those to the same inbox; other domains are left alone. The first copy is kept unless you choose to keep the last copy instead.

How can I check that my list isn't uploaded?

Load the page, then turn off your internet connection and use the tools: they keep working, because nothing is sent anywhere. You can also press F12 in your browser, open the Network tab and watch while you fix a list. You'll see no requests carrying your data, and no requests to any other website.

What can I paste into the List Fixer?

Almost anything that contains email addresses: a column copied from Excel or Google Sheets, a whole CSV file, contacts in "Name <email>" format, or text with addresses mixed in. The fixer pulls out every address and ignores the rest.

How big a list can it handle?

Lists of tens of thousands of addresses take a second or two on a normal computer. In our tests, 250,000 rows took about 20 seconds. Everything happens on your own device rather than on a server, so very large lists depend on your computer's memory; on an older phone, split a huge list into parts first.
