Compare two email lists

Paste two lists to merge them without duplicates, remove one list from another (perfect for unsubscribes and bounces), or find exactly who is on both.

Runs entirely in your browser. Your lists are never uploaded. Spreadsheets keep all their columns.

Four ways to compare

  • Remove B from A. The one you'll use most. Put your mailing list in A and your unsubscribes, bounces or do-not-contact list in B, and you get A with all of those people taken out.
  • Merge A and B. Combine two lists into one, with every address appearing once.
  • On both lists. Find the overlap, such as customers who also came to your event.
  • Only in B. See who is new, such as people on this month's signups who weren't on last month's list.

Why "Remove B from A" matters

Emailing someone who unsubscribed is the fastest way to get spam complaints, and in many countries it breaks the law. Whenever you import an old list, merge lists or switch email tools, run it against your unsubscribes first. Our guide on keeping a suppression list explains how to build one, and our guide to merging contact lists covers keeping names and other details together.

Frequently asked questions

Does the comparison ignore capital letters?

Yes. Addresses are matched without regard to capital letters or extra spaces.

Can I compare two spreadsheets and keep the other columns?

Yes. If either list is a spreadsheet, the result keeps its columns. When merging, columns with the same name are lined up, new columns are added, and blank cells are filled from the other list.

Which version of an address is kept when merging?

The version from list A, then any new addresses from list B in the order they appear.
